TEHRAN -- Exclusive women taxi service agencies are to be launched with women as their only employees, said Masuomeh Ahovan director of the Founding Board of Women Taxi Service Agencies' Guild Association.

In a press release faxed to IRNA Thursday, Ahovan said that more information about the agencies' activities would be announced in due course.

Ahovan said that the association had been formed per Article 26 of Iran's Constitution and Article 131 of the Labor Law from chapter six of the law pertaining to labor and employer organizations.

She said that the association would operate under the labor law passed by Majlis.

Recently, women were also permitted to serve on as the police force on the basis of an amendment to Article 20 of the law for the employment of Law Enforcement Forces personnel.
